Nope, I don’t like it. It is a visual stereotype of what society thinks it means to be single. Same “woe is me” crap that I’ve heard for years.

I like it because it features a woman talking to herself about herself and trying to make it okay. That in itself IS a super power. Accepting yourself. Sometimes, it can take heroic effort for some people just to get out of bed. Let’s quit worrying about the stereotype because when you deconstruct it, this can be a powerful message. We are super heroes too. We hear about moms being superheroes all the time. But we have power too. Is there a problem with it because we don’t want to be portrayed as being vulnerable (under the covers, on the verge of tears)? I don’t have a problem exposing my vulnerabilities. It makes me a stronger person in the end.

Dunno that I like it much … if it is a super power why is it making her weep?

Uh, because all super heroes cry. Are you a comic fan? Even Superman has cried about his misunderstood powers. Wolverine, too. You try having an adamantium skeleton and being an immortal…very few people can except him for who he is.

What exactly is wrong with weeping anyway? We all do it once in a while. The artist of the panel has a tumblr page called “ask me anything.” You could get the answer directly from the source, I’m sure. 🙂

      I’m wondering that too.
