On this Jewish holiday, I spent most of the time in the kitchen, which puts me right in step with my foremothers. I was trying out a new recipe for a Passover dessert. These are Coco Thumbprints from Dorie’s Cookies, and they’re an updated version of macaroons filled with chocolate ganache. It took me a couple of batches to get it right. Tonight, I’m bringing this to another Seder and I’m hoping they go over well.
What a pity that I can’t just grab one from my monitor! Wendy, these look delicious.
BTW, Dorie’s Cookies has received a LOT of good press. If I wasn’t in a “de-stuff” phase, I’d be tempted to buy it myself.
I love Dorie Greenspan. Her French cookbook is one of my staples. But I understand the need to de-stuff.
They do look good! Petra, for this recipe at least you can find it online w/o having to buy the book:)
So, the cookies were good. But not fabulous. For Passover, I usually make another cookie recipe (chocolate sprinkles), but I wanted to try something new.
Thanks, Robin. I’m on cookbook moratorium right now not buying any until September) and given that I’m refraining from most added sugar, I’m not going to invest in a cookie cookbook.
I borrowed the cookbook from a friend, who got it as a gift, but will probably never use it.
