Pretty In Pink?
Some habits die hard. Since moving to L.A. from San Francisco (and NY before that), I’ve bought a few bright accent pieces. But I have to be in a vibrant mood to wear them. Mostly, I stick to the basics: black, grey and black. For a meeting in the Bay Area this summer, I briefly considered packing a pair of white pants. Sanity pulled me back from the brink. Exercise Your Franchise
On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, finally giving women the right to vote. Here’s the note to Harry Burns of Tennessee that helped seal the victory: “Dear Son: Hurrah, and vote for suffrage! Don’t keep them in doubt. I noticed some of the speeches against. They were bitter. I have been watching to see how you stood, but have not noticed anything yet. Don’t forget to be a good boy and help Mrs. Catt put the ‘rat’ in ratification. Your Mother.”
The One Sink Bathroom
I’ve inhabited my own bathroom for a long time now, and I must say, I like it just fine.
