Summer Fruit

August 15, 2011

I’m finally enjoying the fruits of my labor, after the rigor of moving. My body is still wiped out. For weeks, I was in constant motion, as if running back-to-back marathons. But now, I sit in the living room, and take in the tranquility of a new home. (Apart from the urban din outside my window.)

Break Dance

August 12, 2011

In keeping with the modern version of my ancestral Friday night tradition, I’m about to unplug the computer, stop trying to dominate my surroundings, and take a much-needed worry day off. Will you join me?

Attitude Adjustment

August 10, 2011

MOVE day 5. A well-intentioned friend told me the other day to relax, and not sweat the small stuff. I understand that advice, but I hate it. It’s impossible to follow during periods of overwhelm. And anyway, there is no small stuff when you’re moving. My dog is agitated, she barks when I leave her alone for 10 seconds, I’m still trying to figure out which key to use, how to work the oven, and where to reach for the toilet paper. Breathing…. But then, I think of my shoe closet, and life is very simple, after all.

Slice of Heaven

My new shoe closet. Talk about dreams coming true.

Never Say Never

August 8, 2011

After years of hoping, plotting, praying and dreaming, I’ve just spent my first weekend as a home owner (condo, that is). On the upside of being single, it’s exhilarating to think of the closet space, all for me.

The Essentials

Prepping my toolkit, packing up, and getting ready to move tomorrow. No promises, but if my internet connection is up, I will try and post from my new home.

I’m about to move my happy outdoor cat indoors. Any advice greatly appreciated.
