I didn’t grow up in a family of snackers, so I never got into the habit. What I did inherit (culinarily speaking) from my Dad was the ability to make a meal out of rye bread and chocolate layer cake. When I’m in the mood for something in between meals, I reach for nuts, in particular cashews or pistachios. What’s your idea of a perfect snack?

Roasted hazelnuts. Love them, although I can easily consume far too many. A small wedge of cheese also ranks up there.
I’ve never thought to snack on hazelnuts. I’ve only used them for baking.
I used to reach for cheese but lately I’ve been trying make healthier choices like veggies or almonds. I guess you could say I reach for nuts now too.
Having baggage is being human. Otherise you’d be a robot.
Occasionally, I buy raw almonds and roast them with a little bit of olive oil, salt, pepper & a pinch of cayenne. Low cal and yummy.
