Buy another bike! I’ve been using my trusty Trek 850 mountain bike on the (paved) trail and for errands. Now, 2.5 years after I made the decision to get a road bike, I’m going to bite the bullet on Tuesday (my self-impose deadline to choose between the finalists). Woot!
I’m not a bike aficionado. And I apologize for my ignorance. What are the benefits of a road bike?
No apologies necessary, Wendy! A road bike is lighter and you can pedal with greater efficiency. I can cover moderate distances with my mountain bike, but I’m a slow cyclist (just like I was a slow runner when I used to do that). So, the road bike will increase my speed without the need to expend more energy! The mountain bike will be used for commuting and errands. There are no Indiana mountains to speak of!
